Past 23 november JLD Contracting attended the Hydraulic Enigneering Day in Rotterdam with an own stand.
The subject of climate change is indispensable from everyday life. Increased flooding in low-lying deltas, the transition to clean energy and the Paris climate agreement ensure permanent attention in the media. In this way, they contribute to the social awareness of this subject. How much do sea levels rise and river discharges? And what does this mean for the hydraulic engineering sector?
Questions about this type of issues were being discussed this day by experts and companies involved in hydraulic engineering.
At this Hydraulic Engineer Day JLD Contracting presented the JLD Dike Stabilizer, an innovative dike reinforcement system which contributes to water safety in the Netherlands.
Curious about the JLD-Dike Stabilizer, and how it offers people a more secure environment, protecting them better against dike failure and also to warn them in an earlier stage when dikes are weakened? Read all about the JLD Dike Stabilizer here.
Last 14-15-16 November JLD International was at the METSTRADE Show in the RAI in Amsterdam.
The METSTRADE Show is the world’s biggest and most visited B2B leisure marine equipment show, which has been bringing the marine industry together for decades. This global business platform and community focuses on innovation, market developments, and on-site networking.
JLD’s stand was at the Marina & Yard Pavilion, a square where the leading companies in the field of developing and constructing marinas have a stand.
JLD focused on this exhibition in particular on the supply and anchoring of floating jetties, but also on the anchoring of buoys and other floating objects.
Like last year and the year before JLD Contracting will deliver ground anchors used in a project of the University of Eindhoven. In the previous years the university had constructed the Pykrete Dome and the Sagrada Familia in ice. The 2016 project will be the construction of Davinci’s bridge in ice (35 meters).

JLD-International is currently working on an erosion control project for Uyo Convention Centre in Abuja, Nigeria. For this project JLD International is anchoring geo-textiles and geo-cells using JLD folding anchors.

JLD-International is currently working on renovation of the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal.
Out of the 120 km sheet pile is approximately 25 km at the end of its natural life. The current sheet piles along the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal are 30 to 70 years old. JLD-International is responsible for the re-anchoring thousands of anchors. The project will be completed in late 2015.

JLD-International has recently finished the anchoring for the construction of a yacht haven in Phuket. The marina comfortably accommodates about 200 vessels and features newly renovated docks, broad sidewalks and full hook-ups-including phone, electricity, water and WiFi access.
