DEWATERING SOLUTIONS FOR EARTH RETAINING STRUCTURES

Ground retaining structures, such as seawalls, bulkheads, quay structures, bridge abutments and retaining walls, require proper drainage. It is inevitable that hydrostatic water pressure will build up behind the earth barrier. Without proper drainage, the barrier will collapse over time. Maintainable drainage holes extend the life of any new or existing structure.

Traditional drainage systems, drainage pipes and erosion control fabrics are buried behind the soil barrier, underground. Once buried, drainage capacity begins to decline as the fabric becomes clogged and fails. Buried drainage systems are expensive to install. Most importantly, if they fail, they are very expensive to repair because they must be excavated!

JLD JET FILTER SYSTEM

Our serviceable drainage hole filters contain a MIRAFI geotextile filter cloth in a removable, cleanable cartridge. The filters are easy to clean or replace if they ever clog or fail. We have filters for concrete walls, wharf structures, sheet piling including steel, vinyl, composite and wood bulkheads.
