Do you enjoy helping to build projects that strengthen civil engineering?
What you don’t see often makes the biggest difference. Chances are you drive past projects every day where JLD products have been used. Our anchoring systems and sheet pile structures are usually located underwater, in the ground, or beneath a structure, and therefore often remain out of sight. And yet, these solutions ensure that roads, bridges, tunnels, canals, and other structures continue to function strongly, safely, and sustainably. That’s what makes your work tangible: what you design and prepare in the office contributes to the infrastructure that you and thousands of other people use every day.
You’re the kind of person who enjoys variety, notices when something isn’t quite right, and brings clarity where others see only chaos. You find satisfaction in a production or project that runs smoothly because the preparation was simply well organized.
Is this something that interests you? If so, we have a great challenge for you.
At JLD International in Purmerend, we are looking for a civil engineering estimator/work planner who wants to contribute to anchoring systems, sustainable sheet pile structures, and other geotechnical solutions both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Why This Position Is Different
One day you might be working on an anchoring solution for a contractor. The next day, you might be ensuring that the production of DCP anchor piles is properly prepared and/or preparing a quote for a plastic sheet pile structure.
DCP anchor piles? These are often used as tension anchors with double corrosion protection to hold a viaduct or tunnel box in place. You’ll be working with products from a true niche market. You don’t need to be an expert in anchors and/or DCP anchors, vinyl, or fiberglass-reinforced sheet piles just yet. We’ll teach you what you need to know so you can develop into a specialist with both technical knowledge and hands-on experience at a growing company.
As a key player in the family business:
- you'll be given a lot of responsibility;
- You have a broad range of responsibilities;
- you can see the results of your work right away;
- You'll work in a team where your knowledge, ideas, and initiative are valued.
As a colleague at JLD, what do you help make possible, and why at JLD?
Through your work:
- customers quickly get clarity regarding their anchors and/or sheet piles;
- technical solutions are being developed;
- DCP production and other pick orders have been fully prepared;
- The products contribute to a strong and sustainable infrastructure.
JLD International is a provider of geotechnical solutions, anchoring systems, and sustainable sheet pile structures. Our clients include contractors, engineering firms, and government agencies both domestically and internationally.
Within our family-owned small-to-medium-sized business, which combines trade, contracting, manufacturing, and hands-on technical experience all under one roof, we can work with you to offer customers not only a product, but also a tailored and consistently innovative solution.
What Your Workweek Looks Like
Customers want to know quickly what’s technically possible and how much it will cost. Your colleagues in production need complete information to get the job done right. You bridge those two worlds by switching between cost estimation, quoting, and preparation. You work closely with your colleagues to arrive at the best technical and financial solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- reviewing applications, drawings, and technical specifications;
- determining quantities, material requirements, and (cost) prices;
- preparing cost estimates and corresponding quotes;
- maintaining contact with customers and suppliers;
- managing production and sales orders (from order confirmation and scheduling to delivery and after-sales service);
- performing verification calculations for anchors;
- coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics;
monitoring inventory, scheduling, and delivery times.
What You Get in Return
At JLD, you'll get:
- an independent position with a lot of variety;
- short lines of communication and quick decision-making;
- a dedicated and down-to-earth team;
- career advancement opportunities
- plenty of room to grow;
- specialized knowledge of unique products and systems;
- A competitive salary with good benefits (between €2,850 and €5,500 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on your knowledge and experience).
- Good employee benefits and fun activities with coworkers.
