Between the Holendrecht interchange (A2) and the Diemen interchange (A9) a switch lane will be built. The interchange lane will be elevated along the A2 via a mound of reinforced soil. Along this reinforced soil construction, the client wants to realize a front wall "the Birdwall". This is a steel frame with cassette panels made of corten steel in which a flying bird pattern is punched. This steel frame will be suspended from a concrete retaining wall which will stand on the mound of reinforced soil. Below the reinforced soil, the steel frame is held in place by means of anchors. For this part IXAS asked JLD to supply and install the anchors.
For this project, JLD delivered and installed 90 pieces of anchors horizontally in reinforced soil. The anchor rod is afterwards coated with injection to prevent leaching. On the outside a locking plate is mounted to which the frame is attached.
