Last week was the completion of the reinforcement of Ringdijk in Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam.
The dike was symbolically given back to the residents where Mr. Peter Glas, Delta Commissioner together with Mr. Eric Wagener, Director at the High Water Protection Program (HWBP) covered the last JLD Dike Stabilizer with soil.
After this, together with Gerhard van den Top, Dijkgraaf of Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht and Mr. Gerard Korrel, Bestuurder Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht (AGV), Mr. Jos Karsten, Director JLD Contracting BV and the residents, a flowery grass seed was spread.
The reinforcement of the Ringdijk in Amsterdam was the first dike reinforced with the new technology JLD Dike Stabilizer.
For strengthening the Ringdijk in Amsterdam, the JLD Dike Stabilizer was chosen so that the dike could keep its existing shape and trees did not have to be cut down. In addition, the dike anchoring technique ensures the least inconvenience to residents. The pilot was very successful! With the JLD Dike Stabilizer, depending on the soil conditions and the specific situation, a strength deficit of up to 30% can be solved.
