The JLD Anchor, together with the tie rod, is installed in the inner embankment by means of a connecting rod at an angle at depth in the pleistocene sand or in the sufficiently solid sand layer. The tie rod and the impact anchor ensure that the system is anchored in a solid sand layer and that the tensile force can be transferred to the subsoil.

Over the tie rod the LDE element is slid, it can absorb forces from the active part of the failure plane. These are transverse forces (dowel action) and shear forces (nail action).
Part of the force from the shear plane is transferred to the tie rod and thus to the tie anchor and to the head plate (LDP) placed at ground level. This allows the active part of the failure plane to "hang on" to the head plate.

Because of this action and the preload provided throughout, the JLD Dike Stabilizer is a system that is in continuous operation and will keep the dike within the desired safety standard. Through the action -> reaction principle, this system will generate the necessary reaction force through the dike's own natural action.
