There are some important factors to consider when installing sheet piles along the track. One of these factors is rusting off due to stray currents. Due to these stray currents released along the railroad system, steel materials corrode faster which negatively affects the durability of the product. In order to meet an optimal price/sustainability requirement, the use of plastic sheet piles is often highly appropriate.

16 mounds of plastic dam wall, have been constructed on behalf of Hamer Infra by team JLD, along the railroad between Tiel and Kesteren. The JLD 610/9 plastic sheet pile wall profile was used for this purpose. The purpose of the mounds is to enclose the soil behind, so that a switch box can be placed on top. A nice project where the application of the plastic sheet pile walls comes into its own.

Plastic sheet piles are used for a variety of applications. One of these applications is making a ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฏ๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฆ, for strengthening dikes! In this project, team JLD installs our profile; JLD 610/7.2, to work together for safe dikes!

Here we see a transmission line, from a power plant, to supply fuel to small tankers moored at a jetty. (250 meters away)
Some of the ballast concrete blocks had to be removed because over time they slid down and began to compress the pipe.
Instead of concrete blocks, 30 X JLD 2.2 anchors were installed, connected with a clamp to secure the transport pipe to the seabed.

Replace or renovate? Life span of quay at Baatland extended significantly after survey and replacement of purlins and anchor rods. Over 185,000 kilos of steel saved. A huge financial windfall for the community, but also a much lower impact on the environment and nuisance for the surroundings.
