JLD Dike Stabilizer finalist for the JEC Innovation Award
The JEC Innovation Awards program is emblematic and recognizes pioneers in innovation.
JEC Innovation Awards celebrate fruitful collaboration between community players based on criteria such as partner engagement in the value chain, technical issues or commercial applications of innovations.
The JLD levee stabilization system is a durable, flexible and innovative solution developed for strengthening existing levees. The JLD dike stabilizer is applied to the inner slope of the dike and installed from the inner slope or top. Therefore, in many cases, no widening of the dike in question is required. The dike stabilization system consists of several parts, including three main components made of composite material: the anchor rod, the transverse load-bearing element (LDE) and the anchor plate. The anchor rod is a 25 mm basalt fiber reinforced rod with a specially shaped thread on the outside. Basalt fiber was chosen because of its higher tensile strength compared to E-glass and better durability in soil.
The JEC Innovation Award Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 13 at the Agaro stage of the JEC World 2019 exhibition in Paris.
